Import & export

Move settings and content between sites with a resumable job runner.

CourseGlade packages content into a portable file so you can move it between sites. The free plugin carries the Tools screen and moves your settings; the Pro addon layer adds handlers to move the content itself.

Where it lives

CourseGlade β†’ Tools has three tabs:

  • Export β€” package content and settings into a file
  • Import β€” upload a file exported by CourseGlade
  • History β€” past export and import jobs

What exports with Pro active

With Pro, Export lets you choose:

  • Courses β€” all, selected, or none, with content to include per course: lessons, quizzes, questions, assignments, content release schedule, and membership & subscription plans
  • Bundles β€” none, all, or selected (adds every course inside the bundles you pick, so nothing arrives half-complete)
  • Media β€” include the files, link to them on the source site, or leave media out
  • Site configuration β€” Global settings, which aren’t part of any course and replace the destination site’s own settings on import

Without Pro, only Global settings is available β€” courses, quizzes, and the rest of the content checkboxes need the Pro addon layer.

File format

Export produces a .cglade file (recommended) or a .zip β€” both are the same archive, and either can be imported. Safari auto-unpacks .zip downloads into a folder you can’t re-import, so .cglade avoids that; .zip opens in any archive tool and passes mail/upload filters that reject unfamiliar extensions. Uploads are capped at 256 MB.

Importing

Back up your database first. Importing can update content that already exists on the destination site. Undo removes items an import created, but it can’t restore items the import changed.

The import job runs in the background and resumes where it left off if the connection drops β€” a retry only re-processes what the previous attempt never reached.

  • AI Studio β€” also moves course content, generated rather than exported
