Subscriptions & Memberships addon

The Subscriptions addon (Pro) sells recurring access instead of a one-off purchase. A student pays on a schedule, and access lasts as long as the subscription is active.

Plans

A plan is its own content type, managed from the CourseGlade admin. Each plan carries:

• Price and currency, using your existing store currency
• Billing interval — day, week, month, or year — with an interval count, so “every 3 months” is one plan
• Trial days, if the first period is free
• Scope — the specific courses the plan unlocks, whole course categories, or the entire catalogue

Because scope is set on the plan, one membership can cover a whole category without touching the courses inside it.

Checkout and renewals

Subscription plans run through Stripe Checkout in subscription mode. On activation the student is enrolled in everything the plan’s scope covers; when the subscription lapses, is cancelled, or a payment fails past retry, an expiry sweep removes that access again.

Refunds and earnings

Refunds are handled per subscription — reversing a payment reverses only the access that payment granted. Earnings are attributed per item: when a membership covers several courses, each instructor’s share is recorded against their own course rather than lumped into one line.

Selling alongside one-off courses

Subscriptions do not replace normal course sales. A course can be sold on its own, inside a bundle, and through a membership at the same time; the checkout describes what each line covers.
